Cleopatra and the Society of Architects
Limited Capacity full

Cleopatra and the Society of Architects is a fun and engaging game that includes a true, three-dimensional palace that players compete to build. Players strive to become the wealthiest of Cleopatra’s architects by constructing the most magnificent and valuable parts of her palace.

Players, however, will be tempted to deal with shady characters and trade in materials of dubious origins in order to help them build faster. While these corrupt practices might allow an architect to stay a step ahead of the rest, they come with a high price – cursed Corruption Amulets honoring Sobek, the Crocodile-god. When Cleopatra finally strolls into her new palace, at the end of the game, the most corrupt architect (the one with the most amulets) will be seized and offered as a sacrifice to her sacred crocodile! Only then will the wealthiest architect, from among those still alive, be selected and declared the winner of the game.

The game play really forces players into continually weighing the risks and rewards between taking enough corruption to enhance your position in the game, but not so much that you are forced out of the game at the end. It’s a classic ‘push your luck’ dilemma that continually raises the tension level higher and higher until the game reaches its climax.

Machi Koro + Harbor expansion
Limited Capacity seats available

This is a quick, light game, and a great way to start the RinCon weekend. As mayor of Machi Koro (Dice Town), you must develop the city and complete all of the landmarks under construction. Roll the dice to earn revenue from your establishments, and then spend that money to expand your city or complete a landmark. The first player to complete all landmarks is the winner.

The Harbor expansion adds several elements: support for a 5th player, additional establishments and landmarks, and a rolling 10-card marketplace for the establishments. If only 3 or 4 players sign up for this game, we can play with or without the Harbor expansion.

Boss Monster
Limited Capacity seats available

Inspired by a love of classic video games, Boss Monster: The Dungeon Building Card Game pits 2-4 players in a competition to build the ultimate side-scrolling dungeon. Players compete to lure and destroy hapless adventurers, racing to outbid one another to see who can build the most enticing, treasure-filled dungeon. The goal of Boss Monster is to be the first Boss to amass ten Souls, which are gained when a Hero is lured and defeated — but a player can lose if his Boss takes five Wounds from Heroes who survive his dungeon.

Playing Boss Monster requires you to juggle two competing priorities: the need to lure Heroes at a faster rate than your opponents, and the need to kill those Heroes before they reach your Boss. Players can build one room per turn, each with its own damage and treasure value. More attractive rooms tend to deal less damage, so a Boss who is too greedy can become inundated with deadly Heroes.

Players interact with each other by building rooms and playing Spells. Because different Heroes seek different treasure types, and rooms are built simultaneously (played face down, then revealed), this means that every “build phase” is a bidding war. Spells are instant-speed effects that can give players advantages or disrupt opponents.

As a standalone card game with 155 cards, Boss Monster contains everything that 2-4 players need to play.

Stone Age (With 'The Expansion')
Limited Capacity seats available

The "Stone Age" times were hard indeed. In their roles as hunters, collectors, farmers, and tool makers, our ancestors worked with their legs and backs straining against wooden plows in the stony earth. Of course, progress did not stop with the wooden plow. People always searched for better tools and more productive plants to make their work more effective.

In Stone Age, the players live in this time, just as our ancestors did. They collect wood, break stone and wash their gold from the river. They trade freely, expand their village and so achieve new levels of civilization. With a balance of luck and planning, the players compete for food in this pre-historic time.

With "The Expansion" the game now accommodates 5 players, plus as the Cave persons have advanced and stabilized, they have developed their own new market system.

Looney Pyramids.
Treehouse is an award-winning, fun, easy-to-learn game for two to four players. Your goal is to rearrange your pyramids to match the set in the center of the table, using only the moves you roll on the custom die.

The pyramids are not so much a game, as a game system - like a deck of playing cards, a set of components that can be used to play all sorts of different games. And here at Looney Labs we have been making and playing pyramid games for almost 25 years!

Traditionally, they were known as Icehouse pieces, since Icehouse was the first pyramid game that launched the system in 1986. Some people call them Treehouse pieces, after the starter game we later sold for many years. Many refer to them by whatever game they themselves learned first. But the official name is Looney Pyramids, named for their inventor, Andrew Looney.

Between Two Cities
Limited Capacity full

It is the early 1800s, a time of immense construction and urbanization. You are a world-renowned master city planner who has been asked to redesign two different cities. Projects of such significance require the expertise of more than one person, so for each assignment you are paired with a partner with whom to discuss and execute your grandiose plans. Will your planning and collaborative skills be enough to design the most impressive city in the world?

Between Two Cities is a partnership-driven tile-drafting game in which each tile represents part of a city: factory, shop, park, landmarks, etc. You work with the player on your left to design the heart of one city, and with the player on your right to design the heart of another city. On each turn you select two tiles from hand, reveal them, then work with your partners separately to place one of those tiles into each of your two cities before passing the remaining hand of tiles around the table.

At the end of the game, each city is scored for its livability. Your final score is the lower of the livability scores of the two cities you helped design. To win, you have to share your attention and your devotion between two cities. The player with the highest final score wins the game.

The game features play for 3-7 players in 20-25 minutes

In Codenames, two teams compete to see who can make contact with all of their agents first while avoiding the assassin who automatically kills the team who finds him. The first team to find all their hidden agents from the clues provided before the other team wins. In this game two rival spymasters are the only ones who know the secret identities and codenames of all 25 agents. The Spymasters must give one-word clues to their teammates to help them to find their teams agents, while avoiding those that belong to the opposing team, innocent by-standards, and the dreaded assassin.

For the Spymasters this game is all about giving the best clues for your team so they can find multiple friendly agents on their turn. For the agents it is all about trying to figure out the clues your spymaster is giving to find your friendly agents before the other team finds theirs. Win or lose, it's fun to figure out the clues you need as a team to communicate who are your teams friendly agents.

Sponsored by Tucson Games and Gadgets. Crossing into the Land of 1001 Nights, your caravan arrives at the fabled Sultanate of Naqala. The old sultan just died and control of Naqala is up for grabs! The oracles foretold of strangers who would maneuver the Five Tribes to gain influence over the legendary city-state. Will you fulfill the prophecy? Invoke the old Djinns and move the Tribes into position at the right time, and the Sultanate may become yours!Designed by Bruno Cathala, Five Tribes builds on a long tradition of German-style games that feature wooden meeples. Here, in a unique twist on the now-standard "worker placement" genre, the game begins with the meeples already in place – and players must cleverly maneuver them over the villages, markets, oases, and sacred places tiles that make up Naqala. How, when, and where you dis-place these Five Tribes of Assassins, Elders, Builders, Merchants, and Viziers determine your victory or failure. As befitting a Days of Wonder game, the rules are straightforward and easy to learn. But devising a winning strategy will take a more calculated approach than our standard fare. You need to carefully consider what moves can score you well and put your opponents at a disadvantage. You need to weigh many different pathways to victory, including the summoning of powerful Djinns that may help your cause as you attempt to control this legendary Sultanate. With Artisans of Naqala expansion.

Rococo is a Eurostyle board game with an interesting take on deck-building. Each turn you play one of your employee cards and let that employee perform a task: hire a new employee, buy resources, manufacture a coat or dress, or invest in the ball's decorations. But not every employee is up to every task, so you must choose and lead your employees wisely - especially since each employee grants a unique bonus and some of these bonuses generate prestige points.

After seven rounds, the game ends with the big ball and a final scoring. Then you gain prestige points for certain employee bonuses and for coats and dresses that you rent out to guests at the ball as well as for decorations that you funded. The player who collected the most prestige points wins.

Smash Up
Limited Capacity seats available

From BGG:
Take the twenty-card decks of two factions, shuffle them into a forty-card deck, then compete to smash more Bases than your opponents! Each faction brings a different game mechanism into play – pirates move cards, zombies bring cards back from the discard pile, dinosaurs have huge power – and every combination of factions brings a different play experience.

During play, Base cards (each with their own difficulties and abilities) are in play. You attempt to have the most power on the Base from your minions when the Base is smashed. Sounds easy? How easy is it when an opponent's Alien-Ninja decides to Beam Up your minions to other Bases - flat out Assassinate them? What about when the Pirate-Dinosaur player Full Sails in and releases King Rex to stomp your minions into the ground, or when the Wizard-Zombies use their Mystic Power to create an Outbreak, suddenly flooding minions onto the Base from the discard pile? Or what if you faced a Zombie-Dinosaur player instead and he created an Outbreak of massive beasts all at once?!?

When a Base is smashed, each player in first, second and third place scores points. Fourth place? Sorry, bro – try harder next time.

** We will have every expansion available to play!!! If you are new you will be taught how to play! **

** Kids 10+ Welcome to play **

Brass Empire is a Steampunk deck-building card game. It was funded on Kickstarter earlier this year and started shipping in July. It is similar to games such as Ascension and Dominion, with a touch of Magic (combat), and it has some unique mechanics that distinguishes it from other deck builders. The players are different corporations who compete and battle against each other to expand their territory and grow their brass empire. During the game, they hire employees, construct buildings, and manufacture steam-powered machines. They also battle and sabotage each other.

Codenames Live Action - Tournament (Spies/Players)
Limited Capacity seats available

Note: Please check in by 7pm, however the Tournament will start at 7:20 after the Spymasters have had time to create their clues. Tournament should be done around 8pm. Standard version of Codenames will be played for fun once the Tournament is concluded.

In the Codenames Live Action variant, each player is one of the words and is trying to identify which of the words/players are Red Agents and which are Blue Agents, while avoiding the assassin. It is no longer a team game, every player is acting alone. The player who identifies the most agents correctly (from both sides) wins.

THE GAME
When the game starts, the first clue will be given, shouted out and/or displayed somehow. An additional clue will be given every 30-60 seconds, alternating between Red and Blue. Players will mingle trying to identify members of the Red and Blue spy teams based on the clues given. Number of clues will depend on total particpants, with a maximum of four clues per team in a 25 player game. After all clues have been given and players will have one final minute to complete their spy lists. Players may not guess more than the actual number of Red and Blue spies.

SCORING:
The Assassin with be revealed first. Anyone who placed the Assassin on either the Red or Blue team automatically scores zero for the round. Everyone still left in the game now scores 1 point for each agent of either colour they correctly identified.

WINNER:
We will play three rounds. The highest cumulative score will be the winner.

PRIZES:
Prizes will include copy of Codenames game, other prized still TBD.

Pax Porfiriana
Limited Capacity full

Pax Porfiriana – Latin for "The Porfirian Peace" – refers to the 33-year reign of dictator Porfirio Díaz, who ruled Mexico with an iron hand until toppled by the 1910 Revolution.

As a rich businessman (Hacendado) in the turbulent pre-revolutionary borderlands of the U.S. and Mexico, players compete to build business empires of ranches, mines, rails, troops, and banks while subverting opponents with bandidos, Indians, and lawsuits. Each turn goes as follows:

1. Action Phase: Perform three actions, such as play new cards, get new cards from the market, speculate on cards in the market, buy land, or redeploy troops.
2. Discard Headlines: Remove any Headlines (i.e. cards with the Bull-Bear icon) that have reached the leftmost position in the Market.
3. Restore Market: Restore the Market to twelve cards.
4. Income Phase: Collect one gold per Income, Extortion, and Connection Cube in play. If Depression, pay one gold for each card in play (includes Partners and Enterprises in your Row, and all of your Troops).

Four "scoring" cards (Toppling) are in the game and their effect depends on the current form of government. The government can change if troops are played and as a result of other cards. The form of government also influences different production values of the game, such as how much mines produce. Players win by toppling Díaz, either by coup, succession, revolution, or annexation of Mexico by the U.S. If Díaz remains firmly seated at the end of the game, then the player with the most gold wins.

Now, nearly all that are left are augmented in some way, shape, or form, and live within huge, domed, megacities that belong to different corporate powers.

As a citizen of this technologically advanced world, the choice is up to you how you spend your days.

Do you want to adventure into the ruins of the old world beyond the domes to retrieve valuables, but have to deal with the psychotic augments who are still around from the solar flares catastrophes?

Would you rather work for the corporations, hacking into rival companies’ databases for their own use?

Or do you want to do some other jobs, from crafting to underground, illegal dealings to entertainment and intrigue?

All options are open to you and your team, with a d6 system that focuses on easy to understand skill use and depth of choice, combined with a fusion of narrative focus and random tables.

Limited Capacity full

7th Sea is a tabletop roleplaying game of swashbuckling and intrigue, exploration and adventure, taking place on the continent of Théah, a land of magic and mystery inspired by our own Europe. Players take the roles of heroes thrown into global conspiracies and sinister plots, exploring ancient ruins of a race long vanished and protecting the rightful kings and queens of Théah from murderous villains.

As a 7th Sea Hero, you might...

… save the Queen of Avalon from treacherous blackmail!

… thwart a dastardly assassination attempt on the Cardinal of Castille!

… raid the villainous fleets of Vodacce merchant-princes!

… free the Prince of the Sarmatian Commonwealth from a mysterious curse!

… make decisions that alter the very course of Théan history!

In most roleplaying games, you start off as a 1st-level loser who’s terrified of the goblin with a broken knife. In 7th Sea, you are a Hero, an icon of Théah ready to live and die for causes that matter. You can take on ten thugs with swords, knives, and guns all on your own. You don’t start off digging through old dungeons hoping to find a copper piece or two. No! You are trusted knight, a loyal bodyguard, or even… an adventuring queen herself. Right from minute one.

In other words… you’re d’Artagnan, Milady de Winter, the Dread Pirate Roberts, Jack Sparrow, Julie d'Aubigney, and the Scarlet Pimpernel all rolled up in one!

This is a game of high adventure, mystery, and action.

This is a game of intrigue and romance.

This is 7th Sea.

Fans of the old game will be glad to hear we still have the classic five Traits — Brawn, Finesse, Resolve, Wits, and Panache — as well as Skills to describe your character’s training and experience. However, instead of Roll and Keep your Trait, it’s now Roll and Keep Everything. That’s right, you keep all your dice and use them to resolve risky and dangerous actions.

After you roll, you take your dice and make sets of 10. Each set is a Raise. You can use Raises to accomplish goals, overcome obstacles, and dodge consequences. In other words, Raises make your character awesome. And as a 7th Sea Hero… you’ll have lots of Raises.

We’ve streamlined the rest of the system as well, making it faster, more dramatic and easier to learn. We made dueling possible for everyone, not just swordsmen: if you can pick up a sword, you can get yourself into a duel. Everything about the new system is designed to get you into the action!

Artemis is a so- cial game where several players are together in one room (“bridge”) , and while they all work together, one player plays the Captain, a person who sits in the middle, doesn’t have a workstation, and tells everyone what to do.

Castle Mania is a Resource Gathering Strategic Card Game (STG) based in a medieval era.

The goal of Castle Mania is to accrue more Crown than your opponents. This is done by constructing Structures or completing achievements.

Castle mania is played solely with cards. Each player is given their own colored deck or they can construct their own deck beforehand. Every player has identical cards to choose from to construct their deck and every card is a Players Deck is unique.
Each card has a Resource, a Structure and an action. During a players turn, they may play a card as one of the three options.

Castle mania is a kingdom building game that allows a nice balance between focusing on building your empire and wreaking havoc on your opponents.

This game is a playtest. I've been working on it for about a year.

Castles of Burgundy
Limited Capacity full

Come Play BGG's 9th ranked Overall and 9th ranked Strategy Game. Also Stephen Feld's highest ranked game.

The game is set in the Burgundy region of High Medieval France. Each player takes on the role of an aristocrat, originally controlling a small princedom. While playing they aim to build settlements and powerful castles, practice trade along the river, exploit silver mines, and use the knowledge of travelers.

The game is about players taking settlement tiles from the game board and placing them into their princedom which is represented by the player board. Every tile has a function that starts when the tile is placed in the princedom. The princedom itself consists of several regions, each of which demands its own type of settlement tile.

Santiago
Limited Capacity seats available

Santiago is about cultivating and watering fields. To accomplish this, a number of tiles denoting various plantation types come into the game each round. The tiles are auctioned off such that each player gets one, and the tiles are then placed onto the game board along with an ownership marker that also indicates how plentiful the tile's yield will be. Whoever bid the lowest in each round gets to be the canal overseer and decides where a canal will be built that round. The other players may make suggestions to help the canal overseer decide, and back up their suggestions with money. The final decision is always wholly up to the overseer, though.

At the end of each round, players determine what the water supply situation looks like. Should a plantation not be sufficiently watered, its production drops dramatically; should it happen more than once, then that plantation may revert to fallow ground. At game's end, naturally only the cultivated land counts. Each plantation is counted according to type – the bigger the better. But since the ownership markers play a role as well, the same plantation can give drastically different points for different players.

A boardgame of 19th-Century Mars, set in the Space 1889 RPG universe, players take the role of one of 10 adventurers leading an expedition into the mines of the sinister Martian King Gnaashriik in an attempt to rescue slaves and gather up loot.

Each player's character has a special ability useful throughout the game plus an special way to score extra points (For example, if Sir Colton-Haynes recovers the Ancient Tablets, he scores 10 points instead of the normal 4).

The board is made of tiles which are shuffled and placed face-down to form a mine shaft 5 levels deep.

Each turn players move through the mines, turning over tiles to create a series of passages and rooms, discovering and fighting off Martian baddies, and grabbing whatever goodies they can find.

There is a deck of cards that drives discoveries and can allow characters to find hidden passages, set off a trap, or wander upon an extra nasty combat.

The deck is also the endgame timer. Once it is depleted, players rush to the surface to end the game.

Sponsored by Tucson Games and Gadgets. After the death of King Thorne, chaos spread as the lords of the realm battled each other for the supremacy over the land.Warring Kingdom is an ancient themed card game in which players seek to amass a formidable army and crash his peers. The players must visit the slave traders and traveling merchants to create his own city, while plotting to overrun his neighbor's.There are four merchants to choose from, each one with diverse goods of his specialty:1) Civilians2) Soldiers3) Weapons4) ItemsEach player has a playing area of 2 rows of 5 cards. The castle is located behind the last row, in the center. Players can deploy up to 10 units into these spaces. Each turn, a player goes through the following phases:1. Act 2. Deploy 3. Attack 4. Pay 5. Buy 6. Discard and DrawIn these phases, a player1) can choose one action allowance and can execute any one card with an action on it, 2) can choose to deploy a unit onto his board to improve defense and/or economy, 3) can choose to attack another player to cripple their board or even to win the game by destroying their castle, 4) must pay the upkeep cost of all cards currently on his board, 5) can use the remaining income for the turn to visit a traveling merchant and buy more advanced units, items or weapons, and finally 6) must discard his entire hand and draw a new one.The combat stage of the game occurs when a player attacks, and the two players at war will have 5 fronts lined up, with a dice driven mechanic to determine which units will attack. While wars are often unpredictable, a poorly equipped militia would never stand up to an elite force! The constant threat of attack means every player must balance their military needs with their economic ones, fielding an army that's large enough to fend off attackers, yet small enough to avoid draining the economy.

See one of my games you’ve been itching to try? Let’s set it up and play!

Note that the time slot allocated in the schedule will be my total time for this event but is intended to include several different games. You do NOT need to stay and play multiple games for the full time slot - feel free to just stop by and play one or two games as desired.

Here is an example of some of the games I’m looking to include, just to give you an idea of what to expect: Isle of Skye, Pandemic: The Cure, Celestia, Cacao, Paris Connection, TransAmerica, Rattlebones, Parade, Medieval Academy, Pirate Den, Kodama, etc.

Pandemic (Kid's Track)
Limited Capacity seats available

Introduce the kids to this popular cooperative game!

In Pandemic, several virulent diseases have broken out simultaneously all over the world! The players are disease-fighting specialists whose mission is to treat disease hotspots while researching cures for each of four plagues before they get out of hand.

The game board depicts several major population centers on Earth. On each turn, a player can use up to four actions to travel between cities, treat infected populaces, discover a cure, or build a research station. A deck of cards provides the players with these abilities, but sprinkled throughout this deck are Epidemic! cards that accelerate and intensify the diseases' activity. A second, separate deck of cards controls the "normal" spread of the infections.

Taking a unique role within the team, players must plan their strategy to mesh with their specialists' strengths in order to conquer the diseases. For example, the Operations Expert can build research stations which are needed to find cures for the diseases and which allow for greater mobility between cities; the Scientist needs only four cards of a particular disease to cure it instead of the normal five—but the diseases are spreading quickly and time is running out. If one or more diseases spreads beyond recovery or if too much time elapses, the players all lose. If they cure the four diseases, they all win!

Rincon World Cup 2016
Limited Capacity filling up

The First Annual Rincon World Cup features 4-8 players competing for the 2016 Championship playing the The World Cup Board Game.

The World Cup game is an ambitious attempt to recreate the tension and drama of soccer's World Cup tournament in a board game. The game comes with two large playing boards and beautiful bits used to mark teams and play down "chits" which reflect goals, defense, and the like. The components include chits for every team in the 2002 and 1930 World Cup, playing cards (with goals, attack, defense, and penalties) of a good stock and in nice colors. The two boards are used to play out the tournament.

Game play is NOT a simulation of a soccer game. Instead it is a recreation of early rounds and then, later, the elimination rounds. The object is for each player to get her or his teams through to the finals by playing good cards on his own teams and bad card (penalties, etc.) on the opponents' teams. Of course a clever player may help another team beat a third team if it means knocking out a key opponent (like, say, Brazil in 2002). There is a lot of tension and "screw your neighbor" elements, but play never gets too serious.

Soccer expertise is NOT needed. The "playoff" atmosphere is why non-soccer fans enjoy the game as much as serious football fanatics. It is simply a fun game. I happen to be a huge soccer fan, and I really enjoyed the game.

There is a player elimination element as many teams will not make the elimination rounds (playoffs), but it is fun to watch and see how things work out. The biggest luck factor occurs at the beginning of the game when players draw for their teams. As a result, to make things fair for the Rincon Cup, I will link "bad teams" with "good teams" so that everyone gets a decent chance to win.

We will need 4-8 players who will run 3-4 teams each (depending on how many sign up).

Go for the Trophy!

New World, Inc.
Limited Capacity seats available

This a playtest of a new RPG system by Rogelio Long and Georgie Hinojosa.

In the near future, earth has been nearly destroyed by increasingly more powerful solar flares that caused the first generations of augmented humans to go berserk and kill those around them.

Concordia
Limited Capacity full

From BGG:
Two thousand years ago, the Roman Empire ruled the lands around the Mediterranean Sea. With peace at the borders, harmony inside the provinces, uniform law, and a common currency, the economy thrived and gave rise to mighty Roman dynasties as they expanded throughout the numerous cities. Guide one of these dynasties and send colonists to the remote realms of the Empire; develop your trade network; and appease the ancient gods for their favor — all to gain the chance to emerge victorious!

Concordia is a peaceful strategy game of economic development in Roman times for 2-5 players aged 13 and up. Instead of looking to the luck of dice or cards, players must rely on their strategic abilities. Be sure to watch your rivals to determine which goals they are pursuing and where you can outpace them! In the game, colonists are sent out from Rome to settle down in cities that produce bricks, food, tools, wine, and cloth. Each player starts with an identical set of playing cards and acquires more cards during the game. These cards serve two purposes:

They allow a player to choose actions during the game.
They are worth victory points (VPs) at the end of the game.

Concordia is a strategy game that requires advance planning and consideration of your opponent's moves. Every game is different, not only because of the sequence of new cards on sale but also due to the modular layout of cities. (One side of the game board shows the entire Roman Empire with 30 cities for 3-5 players, while the other shows Roman Italy with 25 cities for 2-4 players.) When all cards have been sold, the game ends. The player with the most VPs from the gods (Jupiter, Saturnus, Mercurius, Minerva, Vesta, etc.) wins the game.

** This is a medium weight game that should teach and play in 2 hours. There is a slight chance with 5 players of this game moving into 2.5 hours. Both experienced and new players are welcome! **

Tigris & Euphrates
Limited Capacity full

Regarded by many as Reiner Knizia's masterpiece, Tigris & Euphrates is set in the ancient fertile crescent with players building civilizations through tile placement. Players are given four different leaders: farming, trading, religion, and government. The leaders are used to collect victory points in these same categories. However, your score at the end of the game is the number of points in your weakest category, which encourages players not to get overly specialized. Conflict arises when civilizations connect on the board, i.e., external conflicts, with only one leader of each type surviving such a conflict. Leaders can also be replaced within a civilization through internal conflicts.

7 Wonders Tournament
Limited Capacity seats available

7 Wonders lasts three ages. In each age, players receive seven cards from a particular deck, choose one of those cards, then pass the remainder to an adjacent player. Players reveal their cards simultaneously, paying resources if needed or collecting resources or interacting with other players in various ways. (Players have individual boards with special powers on which to organize their cards, and the boards are double-sided). Each player then chooses another card from the deck they were passed, and the process repeats until players have six cards in play from that age. After three ages, the game ends.

In essence, 7 Wonders is a card development game. Some cards have immediate effects, while others provide bonuses or upgrades later in the game. Some cards provide discounts on future purchases. Some provide military strength to overpower your neighbors and others give nothing but victory points. Each card is played immediately after being drafted, so you'll know which cards your neighbor is receiving and how his choices might affect what you've already built up. Cards are passed left-right-left over the three ages, so you need to keep an eye on the neighbors in both directions.

There will be prizes for first and second place and a promo card for participants.

Euphoria: Build a Better Dystopia
Limited Capacity full

Sponsored by Tucson Games and Gadgets. You find yourself in a dystopian cityscape with a few workers at your disposal to make your mark on the world. Like most people in dystopian fiction, your workers are oblivious to their situation. This world is all they've ever known, and you may use them at your whim. The world as we know it has ended, and in its place the city of Euphoria has risen. Believing that a new world order is needed to prevent another apocalypse, the Euphorian elite erect high walls around their golden city and promote intellectual equality above all else. Gone are personal freedoms; gone is knowledge of the past. All that matters is the future. The Euphorians aren’t alone. Outside the city are those who experienced the apocalypse firsthand—they have the memories and scars to prove it. These Wastelanders have cobbled together a society of historians and farmers among the forgotten scrap yards of the past. There is more to the world than the surface of the earth. Deep underground lies the hidden city of Subterra, occupied by miners, mechanics, and revolutionaries. By keeping their workers in the dark, they’ve patched together a network of pipes and sewers, of steam and gears, of hidden passages and secret stairways. In Euphoria: Build a Better Dystopia, you lead a team of workers (dice) and recruits (cards) to claim ownership of the dystopian world. You will generate commodities, dig tunnels to infiltrate opposing areas, construct markets, collect artifacts, strengthen allegiances, and fulfill secret agendas.Euphoria is a worker-placement game in which dice are your workers. The number on each die represents a worker's knowledge—that is, his level of awareness that he's in a dystopia. Worker knowledge enables various bonuses and impacts player interaction. If the collective knowledge of all of your available workers gets too high, one of them might desert you. You also have two elite recruit cards at your disposal; one has pledged allegiance to you, but the other needs some convincing. You can reveal and use the reticent recruit by reaching certain milestones in the game... or by letting other players unwittingly reach those milestones for you.Your path to victory is paved with the sweat of your workers, the strength of your allegiances, and the tunnels you dig to infiltrate other areas of the world, but the destination is a land grab in the form of area control. You accomplish this by constructing markets that impose harsh restrictions of personal freedoms upon other players, changing the face of the game and opening new paths to victory. You can also focus on gathering artifacts from the old world, objects of leisure that are extremely rare in this utilitarian society. The dystopian elite covet these artifacts—especially matching pairs—and are willing to give you tracts of land in exchange for them.Four distinct societies, each of them waiting for you to rewrite history. What are you willing to sacrifice to build a better dystopia?

First: The Game of Discovery and Knowledge
Limited Capacity seats available

FIRST is a trivia adventure board game in final beta testing in preparation for a fall kickstarter campaign (the campaign is expected to launch about the time of Rincon). The game is designed for 2 to 7 players/teams, and takes approximately 30-45 minutes to play. The object is to be the first player to make it around the board and back to your home square with all four knowledge tokens. Players advance around the board by rolling a D6, moving forward, and then following the directions for the square they land on. Players earn knowledge tokens by answering trivia questions correctly, but those tokens can also be lost along the way through mishaps and can be stolen by other players. Players attempt to use and acquire skills to prevent loss of tokens or to enable them to steal from other players. Each trivia deck has two versions - a Master Level for those experienced at trivia games, and an Apprentice Level for younger players (the game is targeted for 8 years and up) and for those with less trivia experience.

Imagine that you're a supercomputer. Now imagine that you're bored. So you dream up a little contest for you and a couple of your supercomputing buddies. Your task is to move one of the stupid little robots out on the factory floor through a series of checkpoints scattered throughout the factory. The wrinkle, however, is that the factory floor is filled with all kinds of inconvenient (if not down-right deadly) obstacles located in various locations: conveyor belts, crushers, flame-throwers, pushers, teleporters, oil slicks, pits, et cetera. But the real fun comes when the robots cross each other's path, and suddenly your perfect route is something less than that... In RoboRally players each control a different robot in a race through a dangerous factory floor. Several goals will be placed on the board and you must navigate your robot to them in a specific order. The boards can be combined in several different ways to accommodate different player counts and races can be as long or as short as player's desire.

Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails OR Dexterity Games

Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails takes the familiar gameplay of Ticket to Ride and expands it across the globe — which means that you'll be moving across water, of course, and that's where the sails come in.

As in other Ticket to Ride games, in Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails players start with tickets in hand that show two cities, and over the course of the game they try to collect colored cards, then claim routes on the game board with their colored train and ship tokens, scoring points while doing so. When any player has six or fewer tokens in their supply, each player takes two more turns, then the game ends. At that point, if they've created a continuous path between the two cities on a ticket, then they score the points on that ticket; if not, then they lose points instead.

This is a great opportunity to meet up with local folks to buy, sell, or trade your used games. Sellers, please note that there will be a fee of $10 per table-section assigned, which must be paid in cash at the start of the flea market (this money will go directly toward to convention). Each table will be divided into 2-3 sections depending on the size.

All sellers/traders are responsible for their own merchandise and sales throughout the event. Please inventory all items ahead of time and provide accurate information regarding their condition and completeness. Also note that this event is intended for individuals selling used items. A few brand new, in-shrink items will be allowed, but cannot comprise more than 10% of your total inventory. Businesses or individuals looking to primarily sell new merchandise should work with RinCon staff to reserve a vendor booth in the main hall throughout the convention.

Assignment of tables will be prioritized by attendees who register for this event, including the wait list if all available slots are full. Some sections will also be reserved for vendors looking to sell used merchandise. All remaining sections will be available on a first come, first served basis at the event. Sellers must be at the event 15-30 minutes prior to the start time to get a table assignment, pay their fee, and set up their games. If you register for this event but do not show up at least 15 minutes early, your space may be given away if needed. The allocated time on this schedule is when the event will be open to buyers.

Pedigrees and Trophies (UnPub)
Limited Capacity seats available

A game of strategy and luck based on actual genetic and reproductive biology and the real-life struggles of animal breeding to produce show ring champions and top-dollar animals.  Designed by a Ph.D. in Animal Science, experienced animal breeder, and board game enthusiast.  Your ability to breed champion stock will depend on your decisions in buying and selling animals, making the right matings, and the luck of genetics.  You pick the best animals based on how they look or perform (phenotype), but their appearance and performance are not perfect indicators of their DNA (genotype).  You won’t find out the true genetic potential of the animal (prove the animal) until you see its offspring; unless, of course, you do DNA testing in advance.  Along the way, you have to pay feed and veterinary bills while struggling against reproductive and health problems like poor conception, infertility, genetic defects, disease, and death loss.  If you endure, you can win prize money and trophies by exhibiting your animals in the Show Ring competing against other breeders, but more important, you can build your reputation with more Show Ring victories, which will make your animals bring higher prices.  After you have raised a great sire, other breeders will pay you for breeding services.  Plus you can sell, buy and trade animals between breeders through private negotiation or public auction.

Rezonite is a card game where two players compete in a magical duel to see who can reach a victory condition first. Each card represents a rezonite crystyl, which can either be played as a spell or played as energy to power your other spells. The victory conditions are built into certain spells. To win you need to cast a spell that has a victory condition and then cast other spells that help you reach that victory condition, while preventing your opponent from reaching theirs. There are 5 different preconstructed decks to play, each with different strategies and victory conditions. Experienced players may construct their own deck, using any 30 unique cards (no duplicates).

Automobiles Tournament w/Creator
Limited Capacity filling up

Drivers, start your engines! Will you cross the finish line first? Now is your chance to find out!

Automobiles is a deck‑building game in which the fun is cubed — because instead of using cards to build a deck, you build with your collection of cubes. These cubes not only allow you to race your car around the track, but they also allow you to improve your handling, optimize your pit crew, and boost your speed, all of which are your keys to victory!

The goal of the game is to cross the finish line first! You accomplish this by customizing your race car and surrounding yourself with the best crew. Your race car and crew are represented by a collection of cubes garnered from various options available to you. Starting with the same small set of cubes, each player builds their collection as they play the game. Use these cubes to enhance your performance, train your pit crew, and ensure your race car runs as effectively as possible. Be the first to cross the finish line and watch that checkered flag wave!

*NOTE: In this tournament there will be 4 games running simultaneously with a max of 4 players each. Then the winners of each of those games will play in a final game to determine the ultimate racing champion!

Designed by David Short, Automobiles is the third title in AEG's Destination Fun series! Continue your travels in the acclaimed Trains and Planes board games.

In Arkwright players run up to four factories in England during the late 18th Century. Your goal is to have the most valuable block of own shares. Thus, you must increase your share value and buy shares from the bank... Arkwright allows you to act in different ways. Run all four factories with most possible output, set the focus on only two factories and improve them more than the others can; use shipping to colony or focus on the home market. In any way you have to react to the opponents and their strategy. Enter markets with deficit in supply or give up business where the other players start to push you out. Buy shares when they are cheap and increase the value, or first make money and buy shares later. I will teach the game with the Spinning Mule variant. The game will have a hard stop at 6pm to allow for dinner.

Sky Galleons of Mars
Limited Capacity filling up

Sky Galleons of Mars is a board game set in the fantasy Victorian era of space exploration. It is essentially the tactical ship combat game for the "Space: 1889" role-playing system.

The game has a lot of mechanics that are similar to Star Fleet Battles and Interceptor. It has a distinct 'naval' feel about it though... think of a game like Wooden Ships & Iron Men, with altitude thrown into the mix.

The game is played in turns of three phases. In the Initiative Phase, players form or disband boarding parties and change crew assignments. They also roll dice to see who becomes the First Player that turn.

Two Movement/Fire Phases follow. The moving player moves all of his vessels, both players fire (depending on range, weapon, etc.), damage is taken, then the second player repeats the full move/fire action.

Two large hex, beautifully rendered maps are included in the game to accomodate detailed plastic ships. The rules are broken into two parts: Basic (the game at its simplest level with basic rules for moving, firing, taking damage, etc.) and Advanced (adds more detailed rules such as: ramming and grappling, towing, small arms, crew quality, etc.).

Savage Rifts - No Zealot Like the Convert w/Creator

Brand new El Dorado Coalition officers, recently graduated from accelerated training programs and fully indoctrinated in Coalition propaganda, are eager to break in their shiny new armor and their commissions on the backs of any D-Bees and magic practitioners they can find. 2nd Lieutenant Andrea Carmichael is one such officer, and she's decided to take her long range patrol far outside of its assigned pattern in hopes of finding enemies worthy of a first lieutenant's bar, or even captain's rank.

The Onyx Logging Camp, in the middle-western part of the state, is mainly populated by peaceful, very industrious D-Bees who regularly supply Castle Refuge with lumber and other resources. The vast majority of the camp's population is made up of hairy, vaguely beaver-like humanoids who call themselves the Hoorians. The Tomorrow Legion sends frequent patrols down to check on them, as well as to carry messages and place orders for specific needs. The team is on their way to the camp when the smoke of burning wood (and bodies) reaches them first.

But no matter where you go, keep on the lookout for a bargain... the denizens of this town are always wheeling and dealing! Collect and trade resources as you visit the various buildings of Harbour, and cash them in to buy your way into the town. Whoever has the most points worth of buildings when the game ends, wins!

Harbour is a worker placement game where players move their worker from building to building, collecting and trading Fish, Livestock, Wood, and Stone; and cashing those resources in to purchase buildings (which are the worker placement spots) from the central pool. Once a building is purchased, it is replaced from the deck, and the central pool is a small subset of the deck, and is therefore different every game.

The game ends when a player has purchased his fourth building. After that round finishes, the player with the most points worth of buildings is the winner!

At the heart of Harbour is a dynamic market mechanism. Each time a player purchases a building, the value of the resources they used drops, while the value of the other resources rise. You'll have to carefully time your purchases to take advantage of the ebb and flow of market prices, or be prepared to waste some resources!

Limited Capacity filling up

Featuring historic Japanese artwork, Martial Art is a card game of factions warring for dominance of feudal Japan. The game consists of a series of battles in which players must anticipate their opponents' actions, build their hands, and manage their cards to acquire enough land and power to defeat the other clans and win the game.

As clan leader, command your armies and muster forces to find the tools to conquer places of economic and cultural importance such as the capital Kyoto or the rising city of Edo. But to win takes more than foot soldiers. Provoke a peasant rebellion, influence the emperor to support your claim, or even distract the enemy commanders with lovely Geisha.

Successfully funded on Kickstarter eariler this year, Martial Art is the second title from Spider-Goat Games based here in Tucson.

Mare Nostrum: Empires
Limited Capacity full

Mare Nostrum is an empire-building game in which 3-5 players [or 2-6 with the 'Atlas' expansion] lead their individual ancient empires to dominion of Mare Nostrum. You grow the fame and glory of your empire by expanding your influence into new Provinces, then extending your Trade Caravans, building Markets, and founding new Cities and Temples. You can recruit Heroes and create Wonders to help your cause. But beware of your "friends" because they may look upon your gains with envy and greed...

Mare Nostrum is a re-introduction by Academy Games and Asyncron of the original 2003 release with updated rules, counters, and map board. This edition includes many new components and multiple new ways to win!

In more detail, you choose an empire to lead, which begins with three Provinces. You can lead with Caesar of Rome and its powerful Legions, or with Pericles, the prominent Greek statesman and orator, with the great Babylonian lawgiver and healer King Hammurabi, or with Queen Cleopatra of Egypt, whose engineers led in the development of grain storage and irrigation, or with Hannibal, leader of the Carthaginians, whose merchants thrived on trade and commerce. Now you decide how you will grow your empire. You can do this by:

Expanding your Trade and creating Wonders.
Concentrating on Culture and building the great Pyramids.
Developing a strong and powerful Military to occupy the Provinces of other empires, or
Exerting Political Leadership by claiming the titles of Trade Leader, Cultural Leader, and Military Leader.

Commodore (UnPub)
Limited Capacity seats available

It is 1721, and the Golden Age of Piracy is about to end. King George the First and parliament have just issued The Piracy Act, condemning pirates to a swift capture and harsh punishment for their crimes.
As a commodore in the Royal Navy, this is your chance! If you are the most successful in the upcoming campaign, the title of Admiral of the West Indies will be yours, along with prestige and fortune. However, if you fail, you will be stripped of your rank, and maybe even have your neck stretched at the gallows.
You will need to upgrade your ship with enough cargo holds to last a long voyage, enough sails to catch the speedy pirates, and enough cannons to defeat them in battle. The Admiralty has ordered that you Captains of the West Indies Fleet work together, sharing crew and provisions on the campaign, but of course keeping your prizes for yourself.
Object of the Game
In this medium-weight, worker placement game for 2-4 players, you will take turns placing your crew members on various actions spaces including spaces on other players' ships. These actions allow you to build and upgrade your ship, train your junior officers, collect pirate bounties, and gain additional crew members. You will then use your newly fitted ship, and your crew, to set sail to capture those dastardly Pirates, gaining glory for the Crown and prestige for you and your crew.

Gangster Dice
Limited Capacity filling up

Things went sideways on that last job and the cops are after you! The investigator is closing in and the evidence is mounting up, but there may be a way to dodge the heat: fingering someone else!

In Gangster Dice, each player starts with a set of six dice which represent the evidence against you. You win the game by getting rid of all your evidence, which often involves pinning it on someone else. To do this you will compete with the other players for control of four tokens that will let you gain, lose, or otherwise manipulate the dice. But be wary of losing too many dice too quickly, as you may find yourself unable to lose the rest!

Successfully funded on Kickstarter last year, Gangster Dice was the first title from Spider-Goat Games based here in Tucson.

The Grade Ones will give their new rocks to whoever gives them the fewest old rocks to haul away. Keep in mind while creating your garden, however, that certain combinations of rocks must be avoided! Every afternoon, the Feng Shui Masters come by to check your work. You'll receive demerits for any forbidden combinations – but you'll also receive demerits for your laziness if you don't add new stones each day, so you must find a balance. The Masters' final evaluation will come with no advance warning. The Initiate who has the fewest demerits will advance to Grade Three, while the one with the most demerits will be kicked down to Grade One, joining the others in the daily search for new rocks...

You watched the show, right? Save what's left of humanity, assembled in a rag-tag fleet of ships, from Cylon hot pursuit. Twist of course is that there are Cylons among us. They look like us. The talk like us. And they're trying to bring it all down from the inside. This is a pretty heavy, extremely thematic game that definitely takes it up a level from other social deduction games.

We'll play with components from all three expansions

Three Kingdoms Redux
Limited Capacity full

Three Kingdoms Redux is a board game that seeks to recreate the tripartite between the states of Wei, Wu and Shu. You assume the role of one of the three lords – Cao Cao leading Cao Wei, Sun Jian leading Eastern Wu or Liu Bei leading Shu Han. Players start the game from asymmetrical positions, reflecting the manpower advantages Wei enjoyed in the early part of the period. The weaker states of Wu and Shu protect themselves by forming an alliance.

As a feudal lord, you manage the different aspects of running a state whilst guarding your borders against both rebellious border tribes and external enemies. Managing each aspect well earns victory points for your state.

But beware, for the balance of power shifts constantly during the game. Understand and take advantage of the power shifts, and you will fulfill your grand ambition of re-unifying China!

It is a time for revenge. It is a time for…Reservoir Ewoks! Kill every Imperial that gets in your way, Tarantino style. Reservoir Ewoks! But not everything is as simple as it seems. Beware, for one of you is an Imperial sympathizer. Can you find the pilot, avenge Nanta, survive a raid into Imperial territory, and sniff out the traitor before they betray you to the Empire? Reservoir Ewoks!

7th Sea w/Creator
